Get Quality Backlinks In Exchange For a Little “Intel” and Get Paid For Doing It - Qassia Review
written by Keith James Lock
I was introduced to Qassia from my friend Joyce who runs the blog Health-Is-Natural. I like the idea of Qassia. It offers quality backlinks for one or more of your web sites in exchange for "intel". Intel is simply "any chunk of information" on practically any topic. The intel is never edited (except by you if you decide to) but must be OK'ed by 10 other Qassia users before going live. Each intel that is live earns you one quality backlink. Your links are ranked by how rich you are.
Becoming A Qassia Millionaire And Making $500.00 For Referrals
There are a few ways to get rich on Qassia. Of course, I'm referring to Qassia dollars. There are ways to get "real" cash but wait I'm getting to that. Currently Qassia is in private beta meaning that you must be referred to Qassia by an existing member to get in on the action. The private beta was supposed to be over in February I believe. But it seems we have a little extra time get referrals before it opens registration to the public.
Currently, any new referral you bring on board will get you $500 in Qassia loot as long as they sign up and verify the email sent within 12 hours of you signing up. Within 24 hours will get you 200 Qassia dollars and any referral after that will be 100. I'm not sure if a referral gets you any backlinks though...probably should.
You will also receive Qassia money for grading others' intel before it goes live. There are bonuses that come with that for the early bird who votes and for being close to the final score.
Creating your intel will also net you some Qassia dollars. You'll get bonus $Qassia (or credits) for longer intels and higher ranked intels. The more intels you write, the higher your links will rank and the more backlinks you get. Not too bad.
Right now the Qassia money only gets you higher rankings and you can't do anything else with it. Later on they plan on offering ways to use the money other than for rankings. We'll have to wait and see what cool things they offer up.
Qassia Dollars Are Cool But What About The Real Loot?
As stated in the title "get paid for doing it", there is real money to be made here. Qassia has added an "ad revenue sharing" bonus to this program. Not sure why they call it "sharing" because you get to keep 100% of the generated income. You generate the revenue with Google AdSense. They display Google ads with your Publisher ID on your Qassia profile page and on the pages where your intels show up. Sounds good to me. After your account is created there should be a reminder to add your Google Publisher ID but there isn't. You'll find the spot to add it right at the very bottom of the Dashboard under Settings.
Usability And Aesthetics
The site is super simple to navigate and the Dashboard makes it very easy to find anything that you are looking for. I'm not a big fan of the color pink but my wife says it's a "nice looking" site. It's not too bad. It doesn't hurt the eyes and has a clean design.
Am I Going To Try To Become A Qassia Millionaire?
Probably not. I like the idea and I like the site. I definitely think it's a more exciting (and productive) way to getting backlinks than submitting to directories all day long. Have you ever done that? I'd rather have jaw surgery than spend another 8 hours submitting to directories. Even with RoboForm to autofill the forms, it's still not an ounce of fun for me. So, if Qassia approves to be effective I will begin working it into my promotional routine. I don't plan to spend whole lot of time rating others' intels though but I will do my part. I realize it's an important activity to making the system work. If 10 people do not rate that intel, it won't go live....so I won't be a leech on the system. As for referrals, aside from this post I don't plan to drop my referral link anywhere else unless the system really makes an impact on my link stats.
Although your intels can be about anything, I plan to discuss topics that I discuss on my own site (unless I'm asked not to). Like Twitter may be considered a micro-blog, Qassia may be considered a mini-blog. I'll give a brief summary of a post that was recently done on this site, still providing value. I won't directly promote the site, I'll let the magic happen in the background. Besides... they recommend against blatant advertising and suggest that it won't be very effective and I agree.
Any Suggestions For Qassia?
They did have a couple spelling and grammar errors throughout the site but who doesn't. Don't ask me where, I read the whole site and forget where they are now.
It'd be nice to have an RSS feed of my intel's that I could publicize in BlogLines and other RSS directories.
There's also a paragraph that didn't sit well with me on "The Sweatshop in the Digital Age" page. I'd reword it if I were them.
Here's the paragraph: "If you have a huge number of people spending hours and hours exchanging links or submitting to one directory after another, what you end up with is the digital equivalent of the sweatshop. And that's why more and more SEO work is outsourced to countries like India. The Google algorithm has unwittingly created an army of mindless automatons, stuck forever behind their computer screens, spending long hours day after day on mindlessly tedious tasks such as link exchanges and directory submissions."
To me and a couple other people that read it immediately took that as them suggesting that folks from India are "mindless automatons." I'm sure that's not the case but things can get misconstrued easily.
That's all folks. Get those backlinks by signing up through mine or Joyce's link and let me know what you think.
